This website is operated by Docklands Travel Pty Ltd and is a licensed travel agent headquartered in Queensland. In these terms, “Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa” refers to the trading entity of Docklands Travel Pty Ltd ABN 65 601 734 909.

Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa SA PTY LTD Registration 2023/511866/07. Also known as Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa.

The term “you,” “your,” “customer” or “passenger” refers to the party making the booking with Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa Australia or South Africa and agreeing to the terms and conditions.

Agreement

By making a booking with Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa, you agree to the following terms and conditions, which govern the contract between Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa and yourselves as a customer. Once our agency accepts a booking on behalf of a third-party travel supplier (a supplier), you will have a separate contract with the supplier, governed by the supplier’s terms and conditions. It is your responsibility to make yourself aware of those terms and conditions.

Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa may at any time modify these terms on this site, and your continued use of this site is subject to the terms in force at the time of use.

Your Responsibilities

You must be 18 years of age or older and have sufficient funds to pay for the travel services and understand and agree with the above terms and conditions.

You have read our T&C’s and, if booking for third parties, have conveyed these T&Cs to them. You have read the T&Cs of any suppliers or third-party service providers and agree to be bound by those.

You are responsible for checking the accuracy of all documents provided to you prior to departure. You warrant and acknowledge that you have accessed the Smart Traveller (Australian) or DIRCO South Africa for any specific inquiries related to your intended destination (South Africans).

Agency

Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa acts as a travel agent only. We sell various travel-related products on behalf of numerous Airlines, Transport companies, Car Hire Companies, Accommodation, Cruises, and other Travel service providers, such as hotel, tour, transfers, airlines, and cruise line operators.

Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa’s obligation is to make travel bookings on your behalf and arrange relevant contracts between you and travel service providers. Although Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa is paid a commission from these suppliers, we have no responsibility for these services nor do we make any warranty or representation regarding their standard or performance. All bookings are made subject to the terms and conditions and limitations of liability imposed by these service providers. Your legal recourse is against the specific provider and not with Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa.

Brochures are not our agency’s material but are supplied by the suppliers. We accept no liability for errors in the brochures or advertising material.

Information on Our Website

While we endeavour to ensure that information is free from error, Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa does not warrant the accuracy, adequacy, or completeness of information on our website. All information is subject to change without notice. The products and services sold through Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa are subject to availability and can be withdrawn or varied without notice.

Supplier Fees

In the event the Travel Offer you have purchased is unable to proceed, and/or a travel Supplier is unable to fulfill the Travel Offer due to external circumstances (Limitation of Liability e.g., a Force Majeure event), there may be a fee or amount of money that is withheld by our Suppliers and is unrecoverable. This may be due to non-refundable airline tickets, cancellation penalties with cruise cabins, or unrecoverable payments with our land/accommodation partners.

Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa has committed to these costs as your Agent and will endeavour to recover all funds committed and/or paid for your Travel Offer, but this may not be possible in all circumstances. If refunds are not available from Suppliers, we will endeavour to obtain a travel credit on the best terms available and communicate these outcomes to you. In the event, Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa is unable to obtain a refund or travel service credit, or part thereof, this cost is passed on to the customer as a Supplier Fee. This fee is not revenue-raising and is paid to or withheld by our suppliers when recovering payments.

Travel Documents / Shipping Policy

Travel documents include (without limitation) airline tickets, cruise tickets, hotel vouchers, tour vouchers, or any other document (whether in electronic form or otherwise) used to confirm an arrangement with a service provider. Travel documents may be subject to certain conditions and/or restrictions including (without limitation) being non-refundable, non-date-changeable, and subject to cancellation and/or amendment fees. All travel documents are non-transferable. All airline tickets must be issued in the name of the passport/photo identity holder. Some carriers will deny carriage if the name varies and the booking may be cancelled. It is the client’s responsibility to provide Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa copies of valid passports as proof of name.

Changes to documents after ticket or vouchers are issued are costly and will be the customer’s responsibility.

Schedule Changes

Great Holiday Escapes Australia and South Africa will always endeavour to advise schedule changes. However, it is your responsibility to contact or proceed to the airline/cruise line/tour operator website (if applicable) at least seventy-two (72) hours prior to travel to ensure the scheduled departure time has not changed.

Force Majeure

Neither party will be liable for any failure or delay in performing an obligation under this Agreement that is due to any of the following causes, to the extent beyond its reasonable control: acts of God, accident, riots, war, terrorist act, epidemic, pandemic, quarantine, outbreaks of infectious disease, or any other public health crisis, civil commotion, breakdown of communication facilities, natural catastrophes, government acts or omissions, changes in laws or regulations, national strikes, fire, explosion, generalised lack of availability of raw materials or energy.

For the avoidance of doubt, Force Majeure shall not include (a) financial distress nor the inability of either party to make a profit or avoid a financial loss, (b) changes in market prices or conditions, or (c) a party’s financial inability to perform its obligation hereunder. If a force majeure applies, the customer will be bound by the supplier’s terms and conditions.

Travel Insurance

Travel insurance is strongly recommended by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for all overseas travel, including domestic cruises. Medicare will not provide any form of cover for passengers on cruise ships that have departed Australian ports.

Please carefully read the relevant Product Disclosure Statement and Policy Wording available to decide if a policy is right for you.

As per our booking terms and conditions, deposits are non-refundable. Therefore, we recommend you arrange a policy at your earliest convenience.

Mandatory Travel Insurance for New Caledonia

New Caledonian authorities have advised new regulations for overseas travellers arriving by air or cruise. It is compulsory that each traveller have Comprehensive Travel Insurance in order to disembark in New Caledonia. This insurance must include Medical, Hospitalisation, and Flight Repatriation.

Disclosure: Passports & Visas

It is your responsibility to ensure that you have valid passports, visas, and re-entry permits that meet the requirements of immigration and other government authorities. Any fines, penalties, payments, or expenditures incurred as a result of such documents not meeting the requirements of those authorities will be your sole responsibility.

Please note that for all international cruises and flights, your Australian passport must have a validity of six months after your return date to Australia. Non-disclosure of arrest or conviction history may lead to your being refused entry on arrival in certain countries.
